Sugar – when is it not so sweet? For some CPG companies, when it comes to the redesigned Nutrition Facts label. That’s because by July 26, 2018, manufacturers will be required by the FDA to use the new label, which will include “Added Sugars” – sugars that have been added during processing or packaging.
A win for health-conscious consumers? An unnecessary burden on CPG companies? Perhaps a golden opportunity to meet consumer demand for healthier fare?
Regardless of how it’s perceived, CPG companies would do well to hire an expert when it comes to executing the ins and outs of new NF labeling requirements. At east|west marketing group, we know NF labels. From Ricola cough drops to Post Cereals to OTC drug packaging, we’ve helped CPG companies maintain FDA compliance by establishing new NFPs that meet current guidelines. And, that’s pretty sweet!
